Come play Coed Softball ages 5-13 (by May 20th).    Children are taught not only how to play the game but also sportsmanship and teamwork. We use positive reinforcement, creative teaching techniques and give guidance at your child's specific developmental level, while emphasizing fun.  All teams are coached by caring parent volunteers.   

We are not a drop-off program.  Parents are required to stay onsite and volunteer in some capacity. 

5 Year Olds

Have a 5 year old?  You have a choice between signing up for Softball or Sports Skills.  Choose the sport you think your child will enjoy most!

Season - Mondays 

Our 5 week season runs from Monday, May 20th -  Monday, June 17th.

Mondays at 9 am.  We will have practice on Memorial Day (May 27th).

Practice runs for 45-100 minutes. Length of practice based on age.

Coach Needed for Teens

We still need a coach for ages 13+.

Coaches Needed: Registration will not open until we have enough coaches.  If you wish to coach please send us an email ASAP info@velocitycolorado.com

The current cost is $35 per child.  This includes all practices, and a snack each week.

You can add a BLUE Velocity team shirt for $10.

Early Bird Registration is $20: January 1st - 31st
Regular Registration is $25: February 1st - February 28th
Late Registration is $35: After February 28th

Team shirts are not guaranteed if you register after Feb 28th. 

Your registration is not complete until full payment has been received.

Volunteer - Required

We are a nonprofit.  To keep your cost low we don’t hire coaches (or have any paid staff for that matter) but rather ask that every family volunteer to help in some way.  We can only survive with your help!  When registering please tell us how you would like to volunteer.  

Please note that it is required of every family to volunteer in some way. 
                                                                                                                      
No team will play until we have both a Coach & enough field helpers for their team.

Some options include:

• Coach (will receive up to 3 Free Early Bird Registrations for the next session of sports)

• Assistant Coach

• Helper on the Field

• Dugout Helper

• Score Keeper

• Photographer (Take action shots and team photos-Upload online)

• Snacks (work within a provided budget to buy snacks, distribute to all teams)

• End of Season Party

• Check in Crew (On the first day of practice, help guide families and answer their questions)

• Gratitude Coordinator (organize Thank You’s for coaches)

• Fundraising Promoter (Spread the word about fundraising options and how to offset costs)          

Team Shirt (Optional $10)

Every player is required to have and bring to every practice:
                                                                                                                                                              

• Water Bottle

• Comfortable clothing

• Glove

• Batting Helmet

• Cleats are not mandatory but are highly recommended. If not cleats must be a close toed shoe.

• Bat is highly recommended (no wooden bats)

Label all personal equipment.

Length:  Have the child stand straight up with their arms to the side. Place a ruler to their side with the start of the ruler (the "0" mark) on the ground. Read the measurement at the end of their wrist, just where the hand meets the forearm. 

Or have your child stand up tall with their arms straight out (arms should be parallel to the ground). Measure from the very center of their chest out to the tip of their fingers. This will give you the ideal bat length.

Weight: Lighter is better.  A child should be able to hold the bat with one hand and point it straight out to the side, keeping their arm straight and parallel to the ground and hold for at least 25 seconds.  If the barrel drops, then the bat is too heavy.

Refunds will be issued for classes as follows: 

Before March 1st a full refund will be provided, minus a $5.00 processing fee. 

After February 28th a refund will be issued at 70% of the purchase price. 

No refunds will be issued after the start of the session (May 20th).
