Ages 2.5-5 (by Jan 13th).

Children are taught not only basic sports skills using play-based instruction but also sportsmanship and teamwork. We use positive reinforcement, creative teaching techniques and give guidance at your child's specific developmental level, while emphasizing fun.

All teams are coached by caring parent volunteers.

We are not a drop-off program. Parents are required to stay onsite and volunteer in some capacity.

4 & 5 Year Olds

Have a 4 or 5 year old? You have a choice between signing up for Track or Sports Skills. Choose the sport you think your child will enjoy most! 4/5 year olds will have the option of running a 200m, 400m, 800m and/or the 4x100m relay in the meets.


Season - Mondays

Our 8 week season runs from Monday, January 13th- Monday, March 10th. No practice on MLK day.

Mondays at 11 am. We will have two timed meets/races.

Practice runs for 30-45 minutes. Length of practice based on age. The meets might run longer depending on how many kids sign up.

Schedule Breakdown

Weeks 1, 2 & 3: Fun running and endurance games.

Week 4: Meet 1. Sports skills will start the meet off with a short untimed dash along the sidewalk. Then continue their practice.

Weeks 5, 6 & 7: Running games/practice.

Week 8: Meet 2. Sports skills will start the meet off with a short untimed dash along the sidewalk. Then continue their practice.

Register early for the best price! Registration tentatively opens October 1st! Registration may open later if we do not have enough coaches in place.

The current cost is $30 per child. This includes all practices, and a snack each week.

You can add a BLUE Velocity team shirt for $10.

Early Bird Registration is $30: October 1st - 14th

Regular Registration is $35: October 15th - December 15th

Late Registration is $45: After December 15th

Team shirts are not guaranteed if you register after December 15th.

Your registration is not complete until full payment has been received.

Volunteer - Required

We are a nonprofit. To keep your cost low we don’t hire coaches (or have any paid staff for that matter) but rather ask that every family volunteer to help in some way. We can only survive with your help! When registering please tell us how you would like to volunteer.

Please note that it is required of every family to volunteer in some way.

No team will play until we have both a Coach & enough field helpers for their team.

Some options include:

Coach (will receive up to 3 Free Early Bird Registrations for the next session of sports)
Assistant Coach
Helper on the Field
Photographer (Take action shots and team photos-Upload online)
Snacks (work within a provided budget to buy snacks, distribute to all teams)
End of Season Party
Check in Crew (On the first day of practice, help guide families and answer their questions)
Gratitude Coordinator (organize Thank You’s for coaches)
Fundraising Promoter (Spread the word about fundraising options and how to offset costs)

Team Shirt (Optional $10)

Add a Blue Velocity team t-shirt for $10.

Shirts are not guaranteed if you register after Dec 15th.

Hoodie (Optional $23-$26)

You can also add a Velocity Hoodie (black)

Hoodies are not guaranteed if you register after December 15th.

Required Equipment

Every player is required to have and bring to every practice:

Water Bottle
Comfortable clothing
A close toed shoe.

Label all personal equipment.

Limited Space

Refund Policy

Refunds will be issued for classes as follows:

Before Dec 15th a full refund will be provided, minus a $5.00 processing fee.

After December 14th a refund will be issued at 50% of the purchase price.

No refunds will be issued after the start of the session (Jan 13th).

Inclement Weather

We will send out all weather-related cancellations no less than one hour before scheduled start times via email.

Soccer/Sports skills may be canceled in the event of inclement weather, facility closure or unsafe temperatures.

Canceled events will not be rescheduled.

Don’t forget you can pay for Velocity sports with your King Soopers vouchers.
